Harvey Lloyd Smith

Harvey Lloyd Smith, beloved husband, father, and grandfather left this world on September 11, 2011, in Meridian, Idaho. He was born August 31, 1931 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Harvey spent most of his youth in Idaho Falls and in Vancouver, Washington during WWII. He attended Ricks College where he met his beloved wife, Luena Ransom Smith. They were married in the Logan Utah LDS Temple for time and eternity and enjoyed 58 years together.

Harvey lived in Seattle with his family while working for Boeing, and then took subsequent jobs in Utah, California, Arizona, and Idaho. Harvey and his wife eventually retired in Northern Utah.

Harvey is survived by his wife Luena Ransom Smith of Boise; sons Brian Lloyd Smith of Seattle, Washington, Preston Lee (Stacey) Smith of Newhall, California and Aaron Ransom (Darlee) Smith of Greenwood, Arkansas and daughters Shannan Smith (Berk) Wright of Arvada, Colorado and Kirsten Smith (Dan) Cambron of Boise, Idaho; fifteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

His main joy in life was his wife, kids, and “granks” and there was never a doubt in any of their minds as to his love for them. Being with him was never dull and his wit, love, and generosity will be missed by all. Thanks to those who cared for him and made him comfortable the last days of his life and to Zeyer Funeral Chapel for their loving support. Bucks, you are one of a kind! We love you.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 19 at the Idaho Falls Eagle Rock Stake Center, 2020 S. Charlotte Drive in Idaho Falls. A viewing will be held from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the services. Interment will be at the Fielding Memorial Cemetery.
